  • Widgenie Service Update for 8/18/08

Right on the heels of our last release, here's another round of fixes and enhancements for today:

    - Ability to edit column names after uploading your data

    - New color picker tool for all charts/graphs

    - Sample data files are now listed on the "choose data source" page

    - "Percent" data type now available in tabular charts

In the Bug Fixes department... several issues were fixed in the widget previewer, the facebook embed code, the login page and in a few other places as well.

As always, we welcome your feedback on these changes.  Keep your feedback coming.

  • Widgenie Service Update for 8/8/08

Widgenie's just been upgraded to a new build.  Included in the release are a number of internal bug fixes and minor enhancements... mostly behind the scenes.

One notable change that users will see, and one that came directly from users in our forums, is that data columns are no longer automatically sorted for XY charts. For widgets that are already created, simply go into the widget creator and change any attribute to refresh the widget and you'll see the columns magically unsort themselves.

For new widgets, columns will be unsorted by default.  If you'd like your columns sorted, you'll need to do that in your Excel or CSV file before you upload the data to us.

Our new release will be before the end of August, and that build will start to include some additional features, so if you've got suggestions, post them to the forums!

  • Your wish is our command!

One of the things we're most excited about here at Widgenie is our new forums.  Anytime you have a platform as diverse as Widgenie, its hard to think of all the ways people might use it, or all of the problems they may encounter.

The Widgenie forums are a great place for users to talk directly with our developers, as well as other users, to share ideas, report bugs and request new features.  If you haven't already checked it out, be sure to take a look at the forums and become an active member of the Widgenie community.
